Powering the Bissell is a 1,080 watt, Ametek motor with a built in heat sensor.  If the debris bag gets too full some vacuums motors will overheat from trying to fill the full bag, but the built in heat sensor will shut the motor off before that happens.

Connect the lightweight aluminum wand to the 1½ Crush-proof 4 vacuum hose with swivel cuffs to easily maneuver around furniture and reach high places. Included with the Bissell backpack vacuum are eight attachments to choose from to best get the job done.

Making things easier is what this vacuum is all about.  An on/off switch is located on the power nozzle hookup for fingertip control.  Stopping to change outlets can be a hassle as well, but with the 50 cord you can clean one area longer before having to find another outlet.
